Privacy policy

1. Data we collect

We collect only the information strictly necessary to operate the service:

• Merchants — name, email, payout Mobile Money number, tax ID if applicable
• Transactions — amount, currency, operator, timestamp, reference
• End customers — Mobile Money number used to pay (never the PIN)

2. How we use the data

The data we collect is used exclusively to:

• Process transactions and payouts
• Prevent fraud
• Notify you of payments received
• Improve the service

We never sell your data to third parties.

3. Sharing with third parties

Your data is shared with Mobile Money operators (MTN, Airtel) only to the extent necessary to execute the transaction. No advertising sharing takes place.

4. Security

Sensitive data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. Mobile Money PIN codes are never stored by CowemaPay — they are entered directly on the customer's phone.

5. Your rights

At any time, you can:

• Access your data
• Request its rectification
• Request its erasure (subject to accounting obligations)
• Request a portable copy

6. Retention

Transaction data is kept for 10 years in accordance with accounting obligations. Merchant account data is kept while the account is active, then deleted 12 months after closure.
